(Greek Deity)ACRATUS

Also known as AKRATOS

The Greek God of neat-wine drinkers.

Akratos was in charge of the strong stuff and went hand in hand with festive excess, more often than not with his closest companion Euphrosyne (Good Cheer).

It comes as no suprise that they were both fast-tracked into their current posts as chief attendants to Dionysus and spend most of their time at his right hand, which is possibly his favourite drinking hand... if he is too tired to use both.

For the record, Ceraon (the God known as 'mixer') was hugely popular with the Spartans. This may be why they got too big for their boots, even without a qualified cobbler, and the foolish notion that they needed a government put them on a slippery slope to ruin. By the time Alexander arrived they weren't even worth conquering, but there is a moral: Keep it neat and avoid installing a government at all costs, it will only end in tears!
