Also known as ALKYONEUS

Leader of the Gigantes, the nasty clan of giants created by Gaia and the blood from the involuntary castration of Uranus.

Alcyoneus was indestructible, but only in his own backyard at Pallene, and during the battle of the Gigantes Heracles rendered his home ground advantage null and void by clubbing him sensless and dragging him over the Thracian border to deal the death blow.

He had seven daughters known as the Alcyonides by a mystery mother who were so distraught after his death they jumped into the sea and were turned into kingfishers by Amphitrite.
