(Titan) CRONUS

Also known as CRONOS, KRONOS, KRONUS
Greek God of : Harvest and Crops
Attributes :
Festival Days :
When in Rome : Saturn

Youngest of the twelve Titans. Cronus was originally a harvest deity but soon discovered that a curved blade could be used for more than just cutting maize.

Spotting his potential as a future nutcase Gaia recruited him to castrate Uranus for shoving the kids up her Tarterus - a task he completed with aplomb. Cronus took the throne with his wife Rhea but all was not well. The garbled words from his dying father sounded something like 'you'll get yours you little bastard' and Cronus was worried. Assuming this meant he would suffer a similar fate, he ate all of his children at birth to avoid the prophecy.

Rhea was understandibly miffed with her husbands eating habits as Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Hera and Demeter were all gobbled up with no time for motherly bonding, so she hatched a cunning plan of her own, and hid her youngest son, Zeus, in a cave on Mount Ida with only Amalthea for cuddles and sustenance.

Zeus returned to Olympus and with surgical precision retrieved his siblings, rescued uncles Briareus, Cottus, Gyges, Brontes, Steropes and Arges, the Hecatonchires and Cyclopes, from Tarterus and drew up plans for a Titanic clash against the Titans.
