(Greek Mortal) ORION

Hunting mad giant son of Poseidon and Euryale who would persue absolutely anything, especially women.

Orion was one of the most handsome men in the world but wasn't the brightest. He'd done all of the leg work and wooed Oenopia's daughter Merope in the right way, but got tired of waiting for the big day and decided to de-flower her after a night on the wine. Oenopia wasn't best pleased, which is understandable, and he plucked out Orions eyes and threw them into the sea.

Wandering around blindly, Haphaestus took pity and gave him a young boy servant who led him to the East where the rising sun restored his sight. A vengeful Orion promised to exact revenge on Oenopia but Haphaestus became involved again when he built an underground chamber to protect the King of Chios.

Never one to learn from his mistake, Orion tried exactly the same thing with Opis which was a rather unfortunate error as she was an attendant of Artemis. The virgin goddess had no time for rapists and it wasn't long before a huge scorpion was in hot persuit.

Having chased the daughters of Atlas for years until they became so exhausted Zeus hid them amongst the stars, Orion got more than he bargained for when the scorpion eventually caught up and stung him in a place we won't mention. He died soon afterwards and became the Orion constellation, but even in the sky he avoids the star group Scorpius like the plague. Once bitten, or stung, twice shy.
