PHAETON

Also known as PHAETHON

Son of Clymene and the sun god Helios.

After tracking down his father he begged for a go on his sun charriot but the horses ran riot with a rookie at the reigns and threatened to bring about the nastiest case of global warming ever seen.

Fortunately Zeus was in the right place at the right time and he stopped Phaeton dead in his tracks, literally, with a perfectly timed thunderbolt as Poseidon flooded earth to reduce the heat.
