Balding Satyr son of Pan, full of wisdom ... and wine.

Having a huge beer belly meant it was difficult to distinguish between Silennus and his ever present wine bag, and he was often considered a bit of a prophet. It sure is a fine line between wisdom and drunken banter.

On the great liberties scale Silenus was too drunk to remember his score and there's no knowing if he was telling fibs or if he had hillucinated most of his life away, but he certainly had a few dozen tales to tell.

If you believe the balding slapheads claims he was not only in the thick of things when the Olympians took on the Gigantes but also slew Enceladus AND had the other monsters running for cover after the timely braying of his ass. This is not as rude as it sounds, and he swears its true, but no witnesses were available for comment... in the entire world.

He did, however, manage to defy alcohols erection challenging properties by siring the Sileni, who were a bit less horny being more donkey than goat, and he's the teacher and companion of wine god Dionysus, which explains where his love of wine fuelled orgies comes from - the pair are often spotted slumped over his donkey too drunk to walk.
