(Norse creature) JORMUNGAND

Also known as MIDGARD SERPENT, WORLD ENCIRCLER, JÖRMUNGANDR

The snaky offspring of Loki and Angerboda and sibling of Fenrir and Hel.

Odin just knew Jormungand was going to be trouble, so he booted him into the sea, where he grew .. and grew .. and grew. He became so huge that he encircled the whole world then bit on his own tail.

Thor took an instant disliking to him for making him look a bit of a sissy at Utgarda-Loki's place in Jotunheim. The serpent appeared as a cutesy little pussy cat yet Thor could only manage to lift one of his paws off the ground. Thor being Thor took this very personally.

Having bullied Hymir into taking him on a fishing trip, Thor cut the head off the giants prize Ox to use as bait and made him row out into dangerous waters. No sooner had the enormous fishing line been thrown over the side than the serpent took the bait. Thor grabbed the line and heaved the huge beast out of the water, hammer raised to strike the fatal blow. There was venom spraying everywhere and Hymir was so terrified he cut the line allowing Jormungand to escape.

What Hymir should've really been terrified of was Thors right fist that smashed him in the face moments later and knocked him overboard. You should never cross a God of war when he's about to kill a world encircling serpent.

The next and final round will be held at Ragnarok.
