(Norse Deity)SIF

Also known as SIBYL
In a nutshell ...
Norse Goddess of : Fertility and Wheat harvests
Attributes : Golden hair. Really golden hair
Hall : Presumably Bilskirnir, with her hubby
Mount : n/a

The wife of Thor with a sideline in prophet'ing.

Sif is the mother of Ullr and although the dad details are a bit sketchy Thor happily stepped in as step-father.

She is also known as Sybil and whilst gazing into the future one day she could see that Hel, Fenrir and Jormungand were going to be nothing but trouble. Unfortunately she didn't see Loki creeping up behind her with a pair of scissors and she lost her lovely golden locks.

Sif may have been temporarily bald while Loki went to find her some new hair under threat of skull-bashage courtesy of Thor but on the plus side she got a new barnet made from pure gold that grew on her head just like real hair. It's a bitch to wash and even harder to style, but hey, beggers can't be choosers. And besides, the dwarfs who created it threw Skidbladnir and Gungnir into the deal which seemed to please Odin and Frey. It's fertility and wisdom that really matters. And mead, obviously.

As the goddess of grain crops the loss of Sif's hair is said to represent the cropping of golden wheat though i never figured Loki as the farmer-type. But this isn't the first time he has been associated with agriculture and some sources insist Sataere is a Teutonic personae of the dispicable trickster.

See Brokkr for the hairy details.
