In a nutshell ...
Norse God of : War, Single Combat, Sport
Attributes :
Hall : n/a
Mount : n/a

The fearless dare-devil Norse God of war, particularly solo-combat, also popular with sportsman because of his link with heroic glory.

Only the bravest of Gods, or craziest fool, would put his hand in the mouth of a giant wolf as a sign of goodwill, but Tyr was definately the former.

Originally one of the Anglo Saxon top gods, Tyr's popularity waned during Norse times and he became Odin's left hand man, mainly because he didn't have a right one. But thanks to Olde English he will never be forgotten — Tuesday is Tyr's day.

Tyr's rather unfortunate association with snarling sharp toothed beasty types will continue at Ragnarok as he is scheduled to lose badly to Garm. But, on the plus side, he will have the satisfaction of watching his adversary die first.

As Thingsus, Tyr is the God of assembly, and 'thing' is still popular in Scandinavia whenever things need to be sorted.

See also Fenrir and Garm.
